Miriam Campion, LCSW
Therapist in Berkeley, CA
Meet Miriam: Hello! I’m Miriam Campion, a licensed clinical social worker. I received my undergraduate degree from UC Davis and my graduate degree from Cal State East Bay. I’ve been practicing therapy since 2015.
My Therapy Specialties in Berkeley:
I specialize in working with adults of all ages who struggle with:
- PTSD, Trauma, Attachment Trauma
- Life Transitions
- Relationship Issues
I have a particular interest in working with developmental trauma and how our early life experiences shape our relationship with ourselves and others. I am also able to write letters for the TGNC population seeking hormone therapy or top surgery and am LGBTQ affirming.
What drew me to this work: I was drawn to the work at a young age, interested in connection and through hearing people’s stories, realizing we are all cut from the same cloth and share common threads. My interest in working with relational trauma or the impacts of our early primary relationships developed after I began my own healing work and realized how much of my current issues and sense of self were impacted by these experiences. I believe that we all desire to be deeply connected to others, to ourselves, and our values for a meaningful life. I have experienced the transformation that occurs in the context of a safe and supportive environment which allows for a corrective experience and trust in ourselves and others to rebuild. In my practice, I work to develop attuned relationships where it is safe to slow down and deeply explore what is showing up in our thoughts, body, behaviors, and relationships. Through this awareness and experience, I believe change occurs. My practice is informed by acceptance and commitment therapy, self-compassion, and my training in healing shame.
My style: Warm, approachable, engaged, relational, and compassionate.
